Tim Pallas was elected to the seat of Tarneit in 2006 before becoming the Member for Werribee in 2014.
Over his career, he has served in various ministerial roles, including:

In announcing his retirement, Pallas referenced his decision gave the Government the opportunity for renewal. It is anticipated that the Labor Parliamentary Caucus will meet this week to determine who will fill the cabinet position.
A by-election for the seat of Werribee is anticipated, with nominations for the Labor candidate yet to be determined.
